Secondly, the physical and chemical indexes of the two products are different, and the differences are as follows:

(1) The bulk density is different, which is the most obvious difference between the two. The bulk density of heavy calcium carbonate is 0.8 ~ 1.3g/cm3, that of light calcium is only 0.5 ~ 0.7g/cm3, and that of nano calcium carbonate products can be less than 0.3g/cm3.

⑵ the whiteness is different. Heavy calcium products have more impurities, generally 89 ~ 93%, while the whiteness of light calcium products is generally 92 ~ 95%, and some products can reach 96 ~ 97%, which is the main reason why light calcium products are often used in high-grade or light color products.

⑶ the moisture content is different. The water content of heavy calcium products is low and stable, generally 0.2 ~ 0.3%, and some high-grade heavy calcium products can even reach 0.1%; The water content of light calcium products is generally 0.3 ~ 0.8%, and the water stability is poor, sometimes there are certain fluctuations.

(4) at present, heavy calcium products with different particle sizes are only micron products, and the particle size is generally 0.5 ~ 45 μ m. Obviously larger than the particle size of light calcium.

(5) different crystal forms. Heavy calcium products are irregular, also known as amorphous, while light calcium products are generally regular. For example, ordinary light calcium is mainly spindle shaped, while nano calcium carbonate is mainly cubic.

To sum up, heavy calcium cannot replace light calcium, and the difference in processing cost and application scope between the two lead to a large price difference.
